Our Governors serve across two schools as part of the Walgrave and Pitsford Primary Schools Federation.

Our Governors meet at least once a month and oversee the work of both schools. We have several working parties or committees in addition to the ‘Full Governing Body’ these include Finance and Personnel, Headteacher Performance Management and Standards and Progress.

Any vacancies in the Governing body are advertised locally and applications are invited from members of the community as well as parents.

Chair of Governors Alan Denton

Alan has served as Chair of the federation since its adoption in November 2014. Prior to that, he was Chair at Walgrave Primary School. Alan runs a successful leadership and coaching development company and has extensive experience leading and managing organisations.

Vice-Chair Eleanor Hacklett

Eleanor is a parent at Walgrave Primary School and joined the governing body in May 2019.  She has over 13 years of teaching experience across key stages 1 and 2, including experience in school improvement. She is passionate about ensuring all children receive an excellent, fully-rounded education and enjoy their schooling experience.Finance and Personnel

Head-teacher: Julia Hyde

Julia is the Executive Headteacher at both Walgrave and Pitsford Primary Schools.

Co-Opted Governor: Steve Bonnell

Steve runs a successful electrical company, enabling him to advise on certain areas of Health and Safety. He is sometimes called in to undertake works, and as such this has been declared as an interest.

Staff Governor: Samone Cupper

Samone is a parent at Walgrave Primary School and staff member.  She joined the governing body in January 2020. She was Deputy Head of a primary school, with over 14 years of teaching experience before leaving to raise her family. She has recently started supply teaching in KS1 and KS2.

Co-Opted Governor: Juliet Hodgson

Juliet is a parent at Walgrave Primary School and joined the governing body in January 2020. She is also an experienced primary school teacher with a keen interest in education. She is dedicated to providing children with a firm foundation during their primary years.
